NOT 1/4 diameter

I bought this to replace some 1920's vintage hinge pins that are 1/4" and these are NOT 1/4". There's significant slop.

Nice, but not 1/4” diameter.

I’m replacing a pair of hinge pins in a 1920’s door restoration. The originals were .256” in diameter, but these are just .22”. That little bit of slop is too much.

Metric size maybe

I checked that the diameter of the pin I required was 7/32 inches using a drillbit. A 7/32 inch drillbit fits into the diameter of the hole for my hinge. The hinge pin that I received is too large and when using calipers appears to be six mm instead of 7/32 inches, if you have very close tolerances, beware!
